- Involvement of pancreas in CF
- How would you be able to tell whether a CF that exclusively affects the lungs actually also involves the pancreas? Would a child's lack of appetite and/or smelly stool be a hint?

- Is there another special nutrional formula for babies apart from Cystilac®?
- Hello, unfortunately, my daughter does not tolerate Cystilac®. Is there a special milk formula for babies with cystic fibrosis from another manufacturer? Many thanks in advance for your answer.

- Insecurity
- Dear ladies and gentlemen, I worry about my 18-months-old son. Until his 6th month I brest-feded him and he gained weight well. Afterwards he gained few weight and sometimes he lost even weight. However, he does hardly eat anything. No potatoes, no noodles, no rice, no fruits and vegetables, no sausages and no meat. Only semolina porridge and buns without butter and filling. Furthermore he has freuqently bronchitis and last year in autumn I found him hardly breathing in bed and he was very grey. Several times he has been in hospital and on the intensive care unit. Since this springtime he inhales in the morning and evening a combination of fluticasone and salmeterol and in case of hard breathing salbutamol. Since the summer he is now relatively free of complaints. Execpt for the low weight of 8000g and often cough and rhinitis, his development is only slightly delayed compared to his twin sister. Last week the pneumologist sent us for a sweat test. The result was 66. In january it should be repeated. Now my questions: Can the test be wrong? What do we have to expect if my son suffers from CF? Could he go to a day care center as planned at the beginning of february? Should I also have his twin sister be tested? Yours sincerely,

- Pseudomonas stutzeri in the lung - request
- Only a short comment to the article [Pseudomonas stutzeri in the lung from the 5.12.2010]. Dear expert team, I do not know if I have skipped something. But here it seems to involve apparently not yet a known CF but "only" cough with the finding of Pseudomonas. Or do I got something wrong? Would it then not be important to look for CF and to initiate the respective diganostics? Many thanks,

- Vaccinations
- Dear team, my son, 27 years old, CF patient, has to go to Asia (Mumbai, Shanghai) for ten days on business. Which vaccinations would you recommend (which urgently, which only optionally)? He is in relatively good health; pseudomonas about once or twice a year, and problems with mold fungus several years ago. Many thanks.

- Trichosporon
- Dear expert team, we have the following question on behalf of our daughter (29 years old, CF): Her lungs have been colonized for several years with trichosporon, and she has been taking VFEND® (voriconazole) on and off for three years. Since the fungus is giving her a really hard time, she would like to know whether there are other options for medical treatment or still other things one could do to support the drugs in keeping the fungus at bay. Who has experience with the treatment of trichosporon? Many thanks for your effort.

- Side effect of azithromycin
- My daughter, 6 years, CF, takes for about 2 years azithromycin permanent antibiotic treatment, every 2nd day 250mg. Can hair loss be a consequence? One has only to pull her hair slightly, then one has little bunches in the hand. Can I do something about it? Thanks!!

- 5T-variant
- What means: ....the 5T-variant (IVS8: TG11-5T/TG11-7T) could be detected in the polypyridmidine tract in intron 8 of the CFTR gene in heterozygous condition. Many thanks!

- hygiene
- My son, 11 years, has a chronic pseudomonas aeruginosa infection since 2010, but the last sputum culture revealed no Pseudomonas aeruginosa (he is treated every two months alternating colistin and tobi). He wants to do a summer camp, sailing on Lake Serre-Ponçon (Alpes), but the showers are fed by water from the lake and disinfecting showers is not possible because of aseptic tank Should he still attend to this camp? Is there a risk ?
