- Calcium in connection with antibiotics
- Hello, some antibiotics (oral taking) should not be taken in connection with milk since their effect is reduced/altered by the calcium contained in the milk. This is what the package insert of the antibiotic usually says. My question now: the calcium content of milk is about 100-130 mg/l, our mineral water contains about 555mg/l. Is it therefore not advisable to switch to a mineral water with less Caclium content or does this have no influence on the effect of the antibiotics?

- Hello, do CF patients suffer from heat more strongly than "normal" healthy people, and if so, are there any particular recommendations apart from those applicable to everyone (drinking a lot, no sports outside, etc.)? Perhaps increased inhalation or something similar? Many thanks.

- Hello, I have CF and am colonized massively with stenotrophomonas maltophilia. My lung function has not improved despite intensive therapy. They say that stenotrophomonas maltophilia is not dangerous, but everything else was ruled out as a reason for the poor lung function. How can stenotrophomonas maltophilia be treated? - How is the decision made whether a maintenance dosis of antibiotics is prescribed to babies and young children ? I think that this is not done routinely? Have there been studies in this area? What are the pro’s en cons of maintenance antibiotics therapy ? Why is there so little known about the correct treatment of babies ?

- Hello, I am 19 years old and I have CF. I am pretty petite and therefore my bust size is very small and I have been suffering from this for years. In general, is there anything to be said against having a breast augmentation done by plastic surgery for a CF individual? Thank you.

- My daughter is 6 years old and since three years she has complaints that look a lot like cystic fibrosis. She has it the whole year through from October till July. During the summer months she has no problems whatsoever. Is it also the case that people with CF have less problems during the summer months ?

- We were advised to do an annual MRI for our son (9 years old, CF). What are the experiences with that and is this harmful to the body? We also want to add that our son does not have any lung problems and his lung function is always good. Many thanks.
