Breathlessness during intravenous treatment
- Question
- Hello
As soon as I am on an intravenous antibiotic treatment iwth Ceftazidim and Cotrimoxazole orally, I am very breathless while without treatment I am not. Do you know if it's because of antibiotics? Thank you - Answer
- Hello,
It is difficult to answer this question without consulting you and knowing your case. I advise you to see with the doctor who follows you.
Sometimes the infection decreases with antibiotics but the inflammation persists and can lead to bronchospasm improved by bronchodilators possibly associated with corticosteroids. Allergic phenomena may also occur.
Good luck
cordially
