Possibility for pregnancy

Question
My spouse (male) has CF and carries the DF508 mutation. I am not a carrier, nor a CF patient. Is there a chance for pregrancy?
Answer
Dear friend,
Your male spouse has CF and carries the DF 508 mutation and another one. You have been checked (hopefully for the biggest possible percentage of CF mutations?) and you are not a carrier.
Male CF patients present obstructive azoospermia, therefore they are sterile.
You can proceed to pregrancy through in vitro fertilization using sperm that has been harversted by biopsy from your spouse with CF.

Yours friendly,
Dr. Stavros Doudounakis
