caring for a russian patient
- Question
- Hello,
Could you please tell us what steps to be done to bring a Russian patient for analysis and treatment in a French clinic/hospital. An association in St. Petersburg fully supports moving and medical expenses.
Thank you very much in advance,
Sincerely,
- Answer
- Dear Madam,
It is difficult to answer your question. What do you mean by "steps". Does it concerns the hospital, health insurance, accommodations, ... ?
On this site you will find information on the management of care: www.cleiss.fr/particuliers/je_viens_maladie.html (unfortunately it seems that Russia has no agreement with France).
It says: "If you come to France to get treatment, the costs you incur are your responsibility if you have not receive a direct agreement by your health insurance to cover the health cost. "
Knowing this, the patient can make an appointment with a doctor in a CF centre, whose list is available on our website: www.vaincrelamuco.org/ewb_pages/c/centres -reference.php
Depending on the care and expected duration of hospitalization, an estimate may be prepared by the hospital. Prior contact with the social service can facilitate the process.
I hope I have provided some answers
Sincerely,
Dr. Sophie Ravilly - 20.06.2011
