- Heart transplanted CF patient and pregnancy
- Hello, My fiancée and I are strongly engaged in thinking about starting a family. Since she has Cystic Fibrosis and furthermore was heart transplanted, we are very insecure if this is possible at all. She is 24 years old and the heart transplantation was done at the age of 14. Her general condition is very good. Is there a substitute for the immunosuppresives that she could take during the pregancy? Is a pregnancy under these circumstances (two problem areas) possible at all? Thank you very much for your efforts.

- Atypical CF
- I would like to ask: Since September my daughter has had repeated stomach pain, throat pain and headaches, and the doctor has always said that she has some kind of viral infection but she always prescribes her only Stoptussin for the cough. She has an atypical form of CF. We inhale amiloride. I would like to ask if she has been sick for so long whether antibiotics should have been prescribed since September. She has only been in school for three weeks since September, and now she has to have tests in all subjects because she is always absent. Please give me advice what to do next.

- Sweat test
- Hello, I want to ask about my 9 month son. I think that he is producing a lot of mucus and his sweat is very salty. Should I ask for chloride sweat test? I have not realized any other CF symptoms. I want to ask more if my GP will do this test or do we have to visit a specialized place?

- ABPA
- Hallo, Our son (18) suffers from cystic fibrosis and allergic aspergillosis. The following questions lead to discussions many times: 1. Can cheese which is refined with molds (e.g., blue cheese) be recommended for a CF individual? 2. Is the mold which covers older cheeses, refined with molds, more likely to be toxic or can this surface mold be considered as being suitable for consumption? Martina Kennel-Haas
