Ichtyosis and CF
Son suffers from ichtyosis, sweat test could not be performed, nasal test either. Genetic test has been done, however no gene has been found. Result has been provided with a question mark. Son has also diabetes 1 and celiac disease (biopsy), additionally lack of IgA and lactose-fructose intolerance (breathing test), he is underweight. CF is mentioned in almost all reports, especially as he has had as an infant pneumonias, permanent spastic bronchitis, as well as pertussis, he has "taken" all childhood diseases. At meals he takes enzymes, without, his digestive problems are even bigger (fatty stool etc.). Pancreatic insufficiency has not been detected during an investigation of the stool. In spite of this, is there the possiblity of having CF?

hyperinflation
Hello, my son's chest xray at age 6.5 months showed "hyperinflation", which his CF doctor described as too much air in the lungs? I was hoping for anymore information on this condition and how it relates to CF. Is it cause for concern that he is such a young age with hyperinflation? Thank you so much.

F508del and G542X
My 4 months old son has been diagnosed with CF. He has the above mentioned mutations. How severe is this combination? I'm extremely worried about what might happen to him one day. Thank you.

synchronized swimming
My 9 year-old CF daughter practices synchronized swimming for the first year. After discussion with the CF centre, the doctor told me that there were no problems if precautions for public pools were respected. However, I wonder if other children or people practice the sport and know their experiences and recommendations.

Positive effect of thermal water
Dear expert team, We live close to a thermal bath that advertises, among other things, the mucolytic and curative effects of its thermal water as well as a brine floating pool and brine inhalation. Could regular visits be beneficial to our daughter (2 years old, CF)? Or would the warm, humid climate rather bring forth germs? Many thanks and kind regards!

colloidal silver
Hello We learned that colloidal silver is highly effective against bacteria and viruses, in the environment and also as remedy for infections. What do you think? Is there any research performed on that topic? Why does nobody talk about the colloidal silver, sometimes considered "miraculous"? Thank you, Best regards.

High blood levels of triglycerids
Hello, I am 32 years old, and was diagnosed with bilateral absence of the vas deferens (CBAVD). I am heterozygous for the DF508 mutation (second possible mutation unidentified) and "suffering" from chronic sinusitis. My sweat test, if I understood, ranges in the intermediate values and does not allow a firm diagnosis. I recently conducted routine blood tests which revealed high levels of triglycerides and HDL cholesterol. Can these high values be due to a malfunction of the pancreas due to a "mild" cystic fibrosis? Thank you in advance for your reply and congratulations for this site where clear answers are always made.

Hypertriglyceridemia
Hello, I asked a few days ago a question about high levels of triglycerides in the case of an isolated CBAVD (congenital bilateral absence of vas deferens, heterozygous for the DF508 mutation, intermediate sweat test, chronic sinusitis). I realize that I was wrong when I mentioned a high HDL cholesterol level; when checking my results, my HDL cholesterol is not high, but transaminases are. I wanted to know if these high rates could be related to a mild form of cystic fibrosis. Thank you in advance for your answer.

Drying clothes
Hello. How long takes the pyo to develop in clothes? My question is, on the one hand, related to the drying of laundry out of the washing machine and, the other in connection with the use of towels and hand towels. What about if you forget the clothes clean but still wet in the dryer? Is there a risk of development of pyo? Thank you for your response.
