- could Pulmozyme® be prescribed by the family doctor?
- I am from Constanta and I get the prescription for Pulmozyme® from my pulmonologist; for this I have to bring every month to the specialist the consultation form (from family doctor), certificate of employee from my place of work and the evidence that the employer paid the insurance fees. I have one monthly admission, although I am not staying in hospital, and I receive than the prescription and get the Pulmozyme. My question is: is there a legal framework for Pulmozyme® could be prescribed by my family doctor? Thanks

- sweat test for cystic fibrosis
- Hello, I am 21 years old and over time I had repeated respiratory infections and pancreas problems (pancreatitis a few years ago I had). But now I'm the worst, I am having respiratory secretions in the throat and I think that I might have cystic fibrosis. I would like to know where I could make a sweat test in Bucharest. Thanks

- antibiotic treatment
- My son (25 years) is colonized by Staphylococcus aureus R (MRSA), Alcaligenes xylosoxidans, Aspergillus fumigatus. He has IV treatments over and over, the germs have become resistant to antibiotics. The Zyvoxid (Linezolide), is no longer effective. Can we hope that former antibiotics would become effective ? If antibiotic treatment is unsuccessful, what should we do?

- F508del and 1717-1G greater than A in heterozygous condition
- Can you say anything about progression of the mutations mentioned above? I was not able to find any information on F508 in connection with 1717-1G>A. Our son (6 years old) had intestinal obstruction at birth. Later he had to have nasal polyps removed. He is taking Kreon®/pancreatin 10.000 (ca. 5 capsules per day) and is developing well. His lung function is good too (he has a cough about once a year with antibiotic treatment). He has the typical round fingernails. Many thanks for your answer.

- P. aeruginosa and horse riding
- My eight years old little boy is willing to practice horse riding. But I read that some animals carry P. aeruginosa and that we had to be careful concerning the risks of transmission while riding. Could you please give me more precise information on the subject? Thank you.

- diagnosis exclusion
- Hello, I would like to know if there is any test that would exclude for 100% the existence of the disease. For example, a genetic test done for one parent, if it is negative, it is sure that baby can not have the disease. If there is a test please tell me witch one it is. Thanks

- cystic fibrosis
- The genetic tests, which we've done both did not find any mutation for cystic fibrosis, although our child died because of this disease; was only detected 7T polymorphism both of us. We want a healthy baby, what we have to do?

- Playing the trumpet with CF
- Dear expert team, Our son (8 1/2 years old, CF) is interested in playing the trumpet. Is this beneficial with CF or rather counterproductive, since possibly the pressure is too high fort he CF lung? Thanks for any information!

- Tyloxapol/ Tacholiquin® 0.1%
- Dear experts, do you have any experience with tyloxapol (trade name Tacholiquin® 0.1% solution) in cystic fibrosis (CF)? After inhalation, the solution is supposed to loosen the mucus in a physical way so that coughing will become easier. Can this agent be recommended for CF individuals or are there restrictions (according to the package insert, the agent can be used by children as well as adults)? - Vaccinations
- My son is 7 months old and was born with meconium ileus. He has F508del-p.Glu92X. He has had surgery twice so far. By now, he is doing well, although he is being treated against his disease, of course. My question now: since my son has had to endure quite a bit with his health, does he have to be vaccinated according to guidelines on top of all this? Is his immune system not able to boost itself, are these vaccinations really necessary? Thank you for your answer.
