Aircleaners or homeventilation
Hi I have been searching the internet to get info about aircleaning/air purifiers and the positive effect it might have on cf. In the us i can can se many who uses this. It is a machine with a filter(hepa) it is not a humidifier. here is the link for one http://www.allerair.com/air-purifiers/airmedic-plus-series.html. what is your opinion as experts is this a good solution that could help my child age 3 years or is it better investing in a complette home ventilation system like this http://www.genvex.dk/uploads/GB_-_GES_Energy(2).pdf L.

How to get rid of MRSA
Our son (6 months old) is permanently struggling with MRSA (in the nose and throat). Currently, he is colonised but he also had an MRSA infection twice; each of them was treated by strong antibiotics. Once, there was a short-term success, once there was no success, respectively, there is currently no infection but the colonisation is still there. Is it possible at all to get rid of the colonisation at home? How big is the chance? Is there any oral antibiotics that is effective? We have been in the hospital six times alltogether and I cannot go on like that any more. Which measures do your recommend to take?

Chorionic villus sampling (CVS)
Hello! My husband and I have a daughter with CF (mutation d508 and g551x). Now we are thinking about having another child. Which prenatal diagnosis is available? I read about chorionic villus sampling (CVS). Is CVS done or first an amniocentese? Can this sampling really be performed in the 8th week of pregnancy? How long does it take to get the result? How reliable is it? Many thanks for your answer.

Biphosphonate therapy
Dear Sir or Madam, What does a biphosphonate therapy as a treatment for osteoporosis involve? How is this therapy performed and what are the side effects? I read that biphosponates are also used in persons with cerebral tumours… it seems to me that it is a very strong drug. Is such a therapy to be recommended for CF individuals with osteoporosis? Thanks, N.

Heat and medicines' stability
Hello, Lots of medicines’ preservation mentions (as such as for Creon or Colimycin) recommend to keep these at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Now for several days even weeks, in this period of heat, temperature often exceeds 30°C. Worse, during strolls outside or during car journeys, we sometimes curl 35-40°C. Do our medicines remain stable in these conditions? Cordially

treatment of ralstonia pickettii
Dear team, Recently the germ Ralstonia pickettii was found in my sputum for the first time. It was resistant against all tested antibiotics. In between my sputum is tested in a more specialized lab but there is no result so far. These results shall help to organize the next infusions which are due in about 3 months. My doctors at the cf-policlinic are not sure about the effect of this germ since there seems to be little experience. They asked me to do nothing at the moment since they hope the germ doesn’t change my situation for the worse. I am very concerned and afraid to miss anything which might be useful or even essential to do shortly after this discovery. Somewhere on the internet I read that the fast discovery of Ralstonia pickettii allows a fast therapy with good results. But I have no idea what kind of therapy was meant. Do you have any further experience? Thank you very much. J.
