- Hello, Why is it not done automatically as toxoplasmosis or rubella, a search for future young parents (no history in the family) that would check if they are carriers of the gene or not? I think it would be less expensive for the Health Insurance Coverage than paying a lifetime to care for a sick child and would avoid a lot of despair! A grandmother who has just learned that her grandson has got it and who remains convinced that it could have been avoided by a prenatal test!

- Hello! I read that CF patients often have difficulty to digest products with gluten. This information can be found in many sites, including this one: http://www.naturosante.com/rubriques/conseils/conseil.php?24 I quote: "It was noted that children with CF are especially susceptible to products containing gluten." Is this true? Do we know the reason? What are the consequences of gluten sensitivity? Are there studies on this? If so, what precautions to observe concerning food? Thank you.

- Hello, Our 18 month old daughter has diarrhea since the middle of June, with a few days of respite but still liquid stools. Our family doctor, after he sent us to a gastroenterologist, who found nothing unusual (analysis of stool, blood, ultrasound) unless an infection (white blood cells and platelets very high), orients us to an allergologist. By phone, he told him this might be cystic fibrosis, but there is nothing abnormal about her lungs. Is it possible? Thank you for your response, we have an appointment with the allergologist on Thursday 25. E. K.

- Dear, I have 2 questions - Can the composition of the air in the area of the North sea diminish respiratory symptoms in patients with CF? - Is there a positive influence of the composition of the air at the North sea (salt-iodine) on the progress of lung damage in patients with CF? - Hello, Are there currently studies or research on the intestinal flora in patients with cystic fibrosis (impact of meconium ileus & of pancreatic insufficiency on the flora, one of three intestinal groups more present or not etc ...)? I refer to the project MetaHIT (Metagenomics of Human Intestinal Tract) initiated in 2008. Thinking that the intestinal flora which is responsible, ultimately, of assimilation (and thus activity) of many drug molecules, just as it does for certain foods or vitamins I can say that by the knowledge of "intestinal group" of the patient could adjust its medical treatment, give nutritional advice tailored with the aim to maintain the best possible BMI thank you in advance for your response

- Intake of extra salt by baby’s not harmful?
- Dear, Normally spoken one says that salt is not good for baby’s, it is not good for the kidneys. Now a baby with CF does get extra salt capsules. Are you sure that there is no harm in this? Or do we just have to choose between 2 bad things? Thanks for your reaction.
