- Inhalation, in what order?
- My daughter (7 months old, CF) has to inhale a number of different drugs. What order would be best for this? At the moment, she inhales the following drugs in the morning and evening: 1. salbutamol and Atrovent® (ipatropium bromide) 2. Mucoclear® (NaCl) 3% 3. Pulmicort® (budesonide) In between, twice a day: 1. salbutamol and ipatropium bromide 2. NaCl 3% Ist his order okay? Additionally, there is half a vial of Pulmozyme® (dornase alfa). Where can we fit this in best?

- Further question on ESBL
- Hello, Recently there was a question and answer on ESBL e.coli. Both our children have CF and keep having germs with ESBL feature again and again, which have not caused any clinical problems so far. Now, however, a planned rehabilitation measure was cancelled on short notice because of this germ, since this seems to be in line with an agreement among the rehabilitation clinics. Is there a consensus on the evaluation of ESBL e.coli and ESBL klebsiella? Do these have to be considered “problem germs” even when they are clinically inconspicuous? Greetings.

- One-way nebulizer
- Hello, many thanks for your information about the Porta-Neb. The one-way nebulizer is unfortunately only recommended for bronchodilators. Are there further inhalation devices with one-way nebulizer (suitable for Colistin and DNAse?) or what do you recommend for a journey abroad in a host family, where the disinfection is too "complicated"? - There are 2 patients with CF at our school These children do not attend the same class, but will soon be in the same building. Which precautions should be taken or should one of them leave school?

- I have several questions concerning CF related diabetes. How does it occur in CF? How is the treatment? When should the treatment be started? Are there differences between CF related diabetes and diabetes? When in a CF related diabetes does one start a treatment with insulin?

- If CF related liver disease or CF related diabetes occur at an early age (i.e. before the age of 4) does that influence survival?

- CFTR related disorder
- Since some years, my 12 year old son has recurrent lung infection with production of sputum and slow regression of symptoms. He was admitted to hospital and had several courses of IV antibiotics. Now, for the second time, he had a pseudomonas infection. After many examinations, all known diagnoses have been excluded such as disorder of immunity, primary ciliary dyskinesia and others. Previously he was examined for CF. After extensive tests (for instance NPD = nasal potential difference and ICM = intestinal current measurements) the doctors concluded that he does not have CF. But according to the doctor in our regional hospital, carriers of the CF mutation can have symptoms. Can you, in the case of my son, consider the diagnosis of CFTR related disorder?

- Info or instruction for daycare or school?
- Dear, Is there a ready made CF information leaflet for school or daycare? Preferably not longer than an A4 with a short intro of what CF exactly is. Why Creon is important, little specifics you should know (for instance not mixing enzymes with the food). I want to make such an info leaflet, but if it already exists, I don’t have to go through the trouble. Thanks for your reaction!

- Dearest, At our kindergarden, when a birthday or another important event takes place, the children can take ‘the class doll Jules’ to their house. Can a Pseudomonas bacteria survive on this doll? If yes, what could the teacher do to avoid this? Or should our child not bring this doll to our house?

- Salty sweat
- Dear, I would like to know why the sweat of a CF patient is saltier. I do understand the function of the CFTR protein. But that is just my problem. A CF patient has no chloride transport out of the cell. How comes it the sweat is saltier? Thank you in advance! Best regards,
