- Indication for ERCP?
- Dear expert team, my question: Is there an indication for ERCP, if necessary with lithotripsy? It deals with a 10 year old Vietnamese girl, asymptomatic since autumn 2010 with condition after pancreatitis in case of pancreas divisum and pancreaticolithiasis in autum 2010, actual in the MRI atrophy of the pancreas, in former times questionably already a pancreatitis. Suspicion of CF with a conspicous change of sequence with unclear clinical relevance (c.374T>C und 5T-Allel with 11GT Repeats/7T-Allel with 11 GT-Repeats), very mild respiratory symptoms, until now thrives well, acutally decreased pancreas elastase in the stool, sweat test several times pathologic. Many thanks and with best regards, Dr. A. S.

- Achromobacter
- Hello Our 11 years old son is principally chronically colonized with Achromobacter xylosoxidans (and also with Staphylococus Aureus controlled with daily Floxapen) and intermittently with 2 other Achromobacter…. We are surprised that he receives only Colistin aerosol therapy against this Achromobacter. Is it enough with 2 per day ? What can you tell us about this bacterium? Is it aggressive? Can it stays during several years or does it evolve very fast? We thank you in advance for your answer and for your website where we can ask questions that concern us.

- Fever
- Dear editorial team, normally fever is in case of healthy persons something positive. Because it has the effect, that viruses and bacteria are not able to multiply anymore. On the other hand I read, that fever has to be avoided in case of CF, because loss of electrolytes and dehydration impend. However it would be of advantage, to drink a lot, to avoid this dehydration in case of fever. Is it therefore good or bad if you have fever as a CF patient? Many thanks and many greetings,

- Pseudomonas Pseudoalcaligenes
- Hello, in the throat swab of my daughter (2.5 years old) now Pseudomonas Pseudoalcaligenes has been found for the first time. The center cannot classify this Pseudomonas. Perhaps you have an idea. Would you treat this germ directly with and antibiotic drug? Many thanks and best regards,

- CFTRdele2, 3 (21kb)
- Our baby has 8 months and was diagnosticated at 6 moths with CF. Now we have received the results from the genetic test:" Heterozygous carrier of a 21 kilobase deletion in the CFTR gene, which leads to a loss of exons 2 and 3 (CFTRdele2, 3 (21kb) A second mutation was not found." also, he was diagnosticated with Severe exocrine pancreatic insufficiency. No lung bacteria was found, no other lung disease. Since in Romania he is the only case, we don't have much information on this specific mutation. Could you please explain us how this mutation will affect him? It is "good" that he has only this mutation or it's a very severe one? Thank you very much in advance

- pseudomonas
- Hi my daughter is 3 years and pseudomonas is found for the second time in 2 months. Our center offers the same treatment again (4weeks of tobi inhalations and ciprofloxacin) it didn´t remove the pseudomonas this time and i am affraid it will not take it this time. I am aware that other centers are more agressive and would use 14 days of IV treatment and then 3 months of tobi. shall we accept the same treatment or ask for the agressive treatment? what would you do i am so affraid of the pseudomonas turning chronic.
