CF
Our son and daughter-in-law recently had a child with CF. My family is wondering whether it would be sensible that I (grandmother) would investigate whether I’m carrier of the defective gen. They think that by doing so we can avoid further investigations in our large family.

Paternity and CF
Hello, In most articles about artificial insemination in CF it is written that methods used are in vitro fertilisation (IVF) or even more likely intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). What about intra-uterine insemination (IUI)? Is this method not feasible for men with CF? Many thanks.

Decontamination of the bowel in case of antibiotic therapy
Dear expert team, how can the intestinal flora be maintained in spite of an antibiotic therapy? Is this possible at all? If yes, which substances come into consideration? I have to take Ciprofloxacin capsules in alternation with Tobramycin-inhalations for one year. Many thanks in advance! Your answers are very helpful!

Warm water supply and colonisation with Pseudomonas
Dear experts, From autumn we would like to move to a new apartment with our five year old son. Up to now the course of his disease has been rather mild, apart from occasional (2-3) cross colonisations with Staphylococcus aureus and Haemophilus influenza, which however did not show any symptoms. He did not have PA so far. With regard to the lungs our kid is inconspicuous, the frequency of infection is normal to low. So far our hygiene “catalogue” comprises the general proceeding and have tried to lead a life free of hystery: in the mornings we let the water run a while from the tap, we keep the toilet lid closed, we wash our hands regularly and stay away from standing waters. In our new apartment there will be no tankless instantaneous water heater for the water that we use like we had before, but an 80 litre boiler in the basement, which provides kitchen and bathroom with hot water (about 6 years old). For us it is concrete the question now, if we could life with such a boiler and which measures we have to take (which temperatures in the boiler? Constantly or only at certain times, about 3 times a week?), inorder to avoid the flow-rate with Pseudomonas. Or however, to give up the plan to move in this appartement as a last consequence.... Many thanks for your information (please as soon as possible as the leasing contract should be signed until the end of july).

Do people with CF have an increased risk of tracheamalacia ? Is the treatment the same ? Is there a link between CF and tracheamalacia ? Is it a disadvantage to have CF and tracheamalacia ?

Info
My wife is CF patient We have recently heard that she is becoming resistant for several antibiotics. At the moment there are two kinds of antibiotics left. The bacteria that is causing most problems is the E coli bacteria. My question is whether there is a risk that my wife will become resistant for the last two antibiotics in relation to this specific E coli bacteria.

CF and birth
Dear ladies and gentlemen, Currently, I am very desperate. I am pregnant in the 23+4 week and 2 weeks ago I have been told, that my unborn child is likely suffering from this disease, as at the prenatal diagnostics, which I have done according to the recommendation of my gynecologist, one has assessed a "sickle of fluid" around the bowel of the baby. I think that one can handle this disease in the normal case, now my question: what kind of therapy does the newborn need? I am afraid, that the baby girl is born and is instantly connected to machines! I would be very pleased for you help. Best regards,

Correlation between MRSA and sinusitis
Hello, Since October I have a colonization of the lungs with MRSA. In the meantime the sputum results without antbiotic therapy or intervention from my side were negative from time to time. In the nose however, I have always very much green mucous and barks. Is it possible that I recolonize myself via my own nose again and again? How can I get my nose free of germs as gentle as possible? I use a drug with the substances verbena, elderflower, sorrel and primrose blossoms and the nose shower for monhts without that the problem disappears. Best regards and thank you again
