Disinfectants provoke resistances
Dear expert team! I read that using disinfectants can increase the development of resistances against antibiotics (here especially regarding PSA [Pseudomonas Aeruginosa]). If the amount of disinfectant used was not sufficient to kill the bacteria the genetic material changed. Drugstores sell a lot of agents that are supposed to kill 99.9% of the bacteria (e.g. Sagrotan®). Do those kind of agents increase resistances? Which disinfectants can be recommend for a CF household. Should these disinfectants be listed by the Robert-Koch-Institute [German institute for public health]? Many thanks and best regards,

Shunt volume
Dear expert team, Is it possible that the shunt volume does have an influence on Cystic Fibrosis? I have been diagnosed with an increased shunt volume but so far the therapy has not been changed. Was does “increased shunt volume” mean exactly? (...) How has an increased shunt volume to be treated? Which possibilities do I have once it is clear that the reason is not a cardiac one? Many thanks

Pseudomonas
My baby was diagnosed with CF and was hospitalized for 14 days for pseudomonas. I would like to know if the bacterium has disappeared, or if it still can be found in my baby's lungs? (because we learned that it colonizes...) Thank you
