- Hello, I am a male patient with CF. I am 20 years old and me and another CF patient [female] like each other as friends for a very long time because we understand each other very well having the same disease. I would like to know what has to be done in a relationship with another CF patient in order to get little germs from each other. We are not a couple yet, only friends, but we would like to get an answer to the following questions: Is it possible at all that a CF patient has a relationship with another CF patient? If yes, how can germs be transmitted? What about cuddling? What about cheek kissing? What about kissing? Or holding hands? What about having children? We know that we are not supposed to do therapy next to each other. I hope you can help us? Or do you know who else we could ask? We ask for your help. Best regards,

- Dear Expert team, let me explain first that being a CF patient and social pedagogue I could work as a hospital social worker. My main task is to discuss with the patients that treatment courses are successfully carried out und that applications for cures etc are correctly filled out. My questions is: is there a danger for me to get infected in a hospital? Is infection dependent on the department structure in the clinic where I would work? What about MRSA? Does CF exclude working in a hospital at all?

- supplement to previous question concerning choanal polyps in a child
- I am sorry, that I write in a such interrupted way, but I am still searching, doing tests and completing information... I performed in my 10-year-old-son x-ray of the sinuses and it revealed, that the right sinus is shadowed. For the fourth time the polyp is diagnosed, probably a choanal one. Laryngologist decided that polypectomy and sinus puncture should be performed in a local anaesthesia. Wouldn't it be better to perform such procedure in general anaethesia? Is it safe, when done in a local anaesthesia? Is sinus puncture the only treatment option? Would you please clarify me, if these polyps are caused by untreated sinus or vice versa? My son is allergic to some extent to mould and feathers, he is not treated, because there is no such need. Is it normal, that such a little child is so seriously ill? I have to add, that polyps run in my husband's family, as a child he was treated with lamps because of problems with his maxillary sinuses, he never underwent sinus puncture.

- My 10-year-old son more than two years ago underwent for the first time polipectomy (choanal polyp in a right nasal cavity). Since that time he underwent polipectomy twice and right now his nose is blocked again, so I expect more polyps. He is constantly supervised by laryngologist, but I do worry about this fact. Isn't it cystic fibrosis? Once I asked my doctor about it, but he did't proposed any further tests. My son underwent allergic tests, he is allergic to mould and feathers. He is not treated with any drugs. Polyps occur in our family (my husband's family), so I think it is genetic... My son is rarely sick, suffers from common cold also rarely, he never suffered from bronchitis or pneumonia... He used to have flu, sore throats, but during past 18 months he hasn't been sick. He dosesn't cough, weighs 38 kg, has no eating problems. Should I do anything with this?

- Dear Dr. Posselt, Many thanks for your answer, to which I have a further question. This is indeed about structural changes; you write that “lung tissue has a very low regenerative ability.” This could be positive during growth, though: the scar tissue does not grow, but the lungs as a whole do. In that sense, the percentage of healthy areas would have to grow. Could one hope that the amount of healthy tissue that grows back is disproportionally high? Many thanks,

- BV Bedrocan Cannabis is a dutch company producing cannabinol preparations in form of drugs. I would like to know your opinion concerning the treatment of CF patients with these drugs using Vaporiser (wet inhalation without burning process) or as an oral treatment. Is this treatment option available in Poland? In USA and in Europe such treatment is frequently used.
