- My 20-year-old daughter has been in and out of hospital this past year, due to infections. She is getting more and more depressed and has no energy or wish to do anything outside the house. Can you give me advice on how to help her?

- US compatible nebulizer
- We are traveling in France (to visit my mother in law's family) and burned out the motor on our Pari Ultra II nebulizer even using an adapter. We are renting a nebulizer now but wondered if it would be possible to find a nebulizer that would work here but be compatible with US voltage (100-230 volts) for when we get back. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for any suggestions given.

- Vertex-770 potentiator
- Dear expert team, my son's genotype is DF508 and R347P. As VX-770 only studies effectiveness in G551D (and DF508) at the moment I wonder what the probability is that this drug also works for other (class III-V) mutations with a certain functionality of the CFTR protein (my son must have some functionality as he is pancreatic sufficient). I guess that further studies have to be done but I would like to understand the working method of the drug and if it can be applied to other mutations. I would also like to understand why the company only focus on one specific mutation. Thank you.

- Pseudomonas in liquid soap or moist toilet paper?
- Is there information about the presence of Pseudomonas in liquid soap or moist toilet paper? However, a piece of soap which is nearly always moist, is even worse? An how about moist toilet paper and moist paper for babies. thanks, greetings V. M.

- Periodic i.v. with chronic PSA even for children??
- Dear Mr. Rietschel, thank you very much for your elaborate and comprehensible statement on the question of the "Danish model" with an 11-year-old with chronic PSA. From your point of view, what do you think of the following counter-arguments from the CF center? - with 3/4 times i.v. per year, our son's veins will be busted in a few years (port during puberty -- not a stunning prospect) - hearing and the kidneys will be affected - i.v. will cause resistances - with an FEV1 of just under 100%, no measurable improvement can be expected - quality of life/school will be strained Then rather every 6/8 weeks lung function + pap smear + possibly azithromycin and i.v. with the next infection anyway??? To us, all arguments for/against i.V. comprehensible, which is why we are having such a hard time making a decision... Many thanks

- Advice
- I am in the 6th month of my second pregnancy and I just found out that my husband is a carrier of the CF gene. My first child has now shown any symptoms and I believe it is healthy. Should I be tested for CF, or should I let things run their course, since my pregnancy is advanced and my first child is healthy?

- ΔF 508
- Hello. After having an amniocentesis during my first pregnancy we discovered by chance that the fetus was a carrier of the DF508 CF mutation. We do not know which one of us is the carrier. I am pregnant now in my second child. My question is should we have testing for this mutation only, or for all the CF mutations? Thank you.

- My son has C.F. Can you tell me if he should get the new flu vaccine?

- Please review the answer to the question: Repetition of H1N1 vaccination
- Dear expert team, Personally, I think that the answer given by Prof. Ellemunter is not correct. The current recommendation for Germany says: children are vaccinated with a half dose rate of the vaccine and receive the second vaccination about three weeks later (the second half dose rate of the cumulative dose). This recommendation applies to the vaccine with adjuvants that is used in Germany. A vaccine without adjuvants is currently not available for the vaccination of children and of the average population in Germany. Best regards, C. Röder

- Phlegm production
- Good afternoon. 1.5 month ago I had bronchitis and had 2 courses of antibiotics. However, I still have phlegm. And have back pain in the area of the lungs. 3 weeks ago examination of CRP showed 0. Is it possible that these symptoms are result of severe bronchitis and they will resolve spontaneously? Thank you for the answer.
