- Does swimming in a normally chlorinated swimming pool bring extra risk of getting infected with bacteria?

- Lung transplant
- I am 21 and suffer from CF. In September 2008 I had a transplant and since the transplant I continuously feel sick to my stomach. I am nauseous, especially after the evening meal. My doctor prescribed Domperidon but I don’t have the feeling that this helps sufficiently. Because I feel nauseous all the time, I eat less and less to avoid that problem. What else could I do to avoid being nauseous?

- Swine flu vaccine
- Dear expert team, there are two vaccines against the new influenza A (H1N1): Pandemrix® (with adjuvants) and Celvapan® (without adjuvants). As a CF patient, would it not be better to prefer the latter in order to reduce side effects? [Translator's comment: information specific to Germany was omitted in the translation.] Regards

- Obliterative bronchiolitis
- I have CF and was lung transplanted 2002. I have been doing fine until this spring. At that time the lung function values started to decline without any obvious reason. After two bronchoscopies in this autumn due to continuous decline of FEV1, my physicians have stated that I probably have “bronchiolitis obliterance”. I wonder if it is common for lung transplanted CF-patients and what the experience is regarding treatment and progress of OB?

- Swine flu
- Our son, 9 years old, CF, was vaccinated six weeks ago, but this was the normal influenza vaccination. Is this vaccination sufficient? He only has digestive problems and has never had problems with the lungs. Thank god! We are very confused because of the side effects, especially with chronically ill children (a 21-month-old baby died after swine flu vaccination!!!). Our CF center does not consider a vaccination necessary, since according to them, even in case of an infection, the progression is rather mild! What is your position on this?

- Pancreas
- Hello! My daughter, 5 years old, CF, has lately had stomach aches quite frequently, increasingly after eating. The stool is not oily in my opinion. Until now, only the lungs were affected. Could it be that now the pancreas is getting involved too!? We were admitted to the hospital in June, did a sweat test (not conclusive), blood tests, ultrasound, but all of that was targeted more at the lungs. Many, many thanks.

- Repetition of H1N1 vaccination
- My daughter (7 years old, CF) got her swine flu shot and tolerated it very well. Now I wonder whether she needs to be vaccinated a second time. I heard that children below the age of nine have to be vaccinated again. In our practice, however, they told us that this has not been answered conclusively and they would get back to us if a repeated vaccination is necessary. The first vaccination was one and a half weeks ago. If yes, what should be the time interval until the next vaccination, and what if it has already been too long? Would my daughter not have sufficient immunisation then?
