Autoimmune-Thyroiditis and Cystic Fibrosis

Question
Dear experts,

Is there a connection between Cystic Fibrosis and Autoimmune-Thyroiditis?

Answer
Hello,

There is no increased incidence of autoimmune diseases in Cystic Fibrosis that is more than just coincidence. The man on the street says: One can catch lice although having caught fleas before. In a figurative sense this also means of course that Cystic Fibrosis does not protect against such immune phenomena like autoimmune thyroid diseases.
