about tobramycine

Question
What has to be done for a CF patient to receive treatment with aerosolised tobramycin ? I know that the treatment is expensive and is not given to all CF patients.Thank you for the answer!
Answer
Hello,
Tobramycin is an aerosolized antibiotic with specific indication in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) who have chronic infection with Pseudomonas aeruginosa, aged over six years . The drug can be prescribed by your doctor (free prescriptions in pharmacies or through the National Health Program, where the drug exists in hospitals pharmacies ), on the recommendation of the National Center of Cystic fibrosis or Regional Centre (CF), with the approval of the county Casa de Asigurari de Sanatate. The written request for prior approval must to be sent to Casa de Asigurari de Sanatate,in order to prescribing tobramycine, on the list C2 (P6.4).
Your CF doctor or the regional center where you belong is able to help you with this matter. If we can help with other questions do not hesitate to contact us.
Sincerely yours,
