Question
I want to know if we can use a diffuser to refresh our son (cystic fibrosis) when it is hot?
Thank you for your reply
Answer
Hello
Unless recommended by the doctor who treats your child with cystic fibrosis, it is not advisable to use air humidifiers (mist, diffuser, spray ...)
Although there is no proven bacterial colonization by this system, it is always best to avoid stagnant water and in addition the release of micro droplets potentially contaminated for example with Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
On the other hand, we encourage you to follow the recommendations in case of high heat to avoid dehydration which is more common in people with CF especially infants: www.vaincrelamuco.org/e_upload/pdf/mesures_protection_forte_chaleur_familles_2008.pdf
