Exacerbation

Question
How I can know, that disease exacerbated? What are the symtoms of exacerbation?
Answer
Exacerbations of pulmonary symptoms are common in cystic fibrosis and display by acute changes, such as increased cough, sputum, and dyspnea, in respiratory signs and symptoms (they may be disclosed after physician‘s examination or additional investigation). An exacerbation may manifest as the presence of new clinical findings or increase of severity of existing symptoms, including fever, weight loss, increased work of breathing, decreased exercise tolerance as well.
In case of cystic fibrosis exacerbation physician may find a deterioration in the chest examination findings, chest radiograph, pulmonary function test indices or hemoglobin saturation.
