cleaning of nose

Question
I am a mother of a child with CF. When needed, I suck out with a device the nose of my child to clean it (saline, sucking, cleaning). How healthy is this, since my child may have pseudomonas and the sucking is strong and goes deep inside me? Thank you!
Answer
Dear friend,
The saline, when the flagon is opened, is sterile and contains no microbes. The child is in no danger from it, except only in case that the flagon is already opened and not properly preserved/stored.
A healthy person is in no danger from contracting pseudomonas in the lungs, except only under very special conditions.
Yours friendly,
