- Dear questioner,
As far as I know, there are no therapeutics in development for the IVS8T5 variant at this point. For the F508del mutation, on the other hand, there is a drug combination currently being tested in a so-called phase II study (as of June 28, 2012; web page: www.cff.org/Display/dsp_ClinicalResearchHTML.cfm?id=209). This is a combination of the drugs VX-809 and VX-770 by Vertex Pharmaceuticals. At this point, it is only at the testing stage, though; the drugs are not being prescribed to patients yet.
