- Question
- What is new in the field of gene therapy research except of routine treatment with antibiotics, enzymes and lung transplantation?
- Answer
- In recent years the UK CF Gene therapy consortium has developed and tested a vector capable of carrying a healthy gene to the lung cells of CF patients (www.cfgenetherapy.org.uk/).
In 2012 it was launched a study involving 120 CF adults and children patients and results of study are expected 2014.
