Bronchitis and other

Question
Hello, I am the mother of a little CF girl and want to know if she has to avoid contact with persons having bronchitis or cold or gastroenteritis or may they have a mask in their presence? Thank you
Answer
Hello,
The winter period is conducive to the transmission of viruses responsible for seasonal colds, nasopharyngitis, influenza, bronchitis, bronchiolitis and gastroenteritis. Respiratory viruses are transmitted by the postillions, sneezing, coughing, saliva and hands of infected people, contact with contaminated objects or simply stale air. Gastroenteritis may be bacterial or viral. In the case of acute inflammatory gastroenteritis, the bacteria penetrate the intestinal mucosa. The non-inflammatory gastroenteritis is due to bacteria or viruses. These are ingested with contaminated food or by contact with contaminated surfaces or objects.
To limit the spread of germs, here are some simple "barrier gestures": wash hands repeatedly, use tissues, if possible avoid close contact with a sick person or ask him to wear a mask, ventilate your home and have your child vaccinated. Perform hand washing or rubbing with alcohol hand rub several times a day is essential to limit the spread of germs for the whole family. Cover your mouth when you cough, sneeze or blow your nose and use a tissue to throw immediately after use in a bin and wash hands. If you are sick, a surgical mask (available to buy at pharmacies) can limit the spread of germs in a room and reduce the risk of virus transmission. It must be changed every 4 hours or as soon as it is wet and should not be reused. Also avoid shaking hands and kissing others during this period. Ventilate your home 10 minutes each day for fresh air. Finally, don’t forget to vaccinate annually against influenza your daughter and the family.
