Problems with teeth

Question
My daughter, 2 years old, has extreme problems with her upper teeth. They are very thin, begin to break out.
Can this also be related to the disease?
Where can I get guidelines for dentists without experience in CF from?
We have great fear to visit a doctor, as she already has extreme fear rather a phobia of all doctors. She cries and cries and cries.
Many thanks and best regards,
Answer
Hello dear parents,

Your questions addresses several aspects of a dentist's treatment.
1.) "Thin upper incisor teeth" do not belong to the picture of the illness of CF. Very seldom, inherited disorders of the enamel formation are underlying in those cases, in most cases however, it deals with early childhood caries, caused by suger or acid containing drinks that are consumed slowly (feeding bottles) or at night. A detailed diagnose, however, can only be made by an investigation and is not possible via the internet.
2.) I can well understand that your child has great fear of a doctor's visit respectively a dentist's visit, as it has for sure experienced many things, also uncomfortable things. In such cases it could indeed be helpful, to see a specialist for the treatment of very small feared children. Special experience of the treating staff with CF patients is only subordinate, it is important that your child can be treated by a dentist in any way.
Such specialists you can find at the university dental clinics, probably also via the German society for pediatric dentistry [German website contact was given].
Best regards,
Michael Sies
