Cruise on a ship

Question
Hello,
We are considering a cruise. We ask ourselves if our daughter with cystic fibrosis may participate in this cruise regarding hygiene, water tanks, swimming pool ...
Thank you for your reply.
Cordially.
Answer
Hello,
I do not know the conditions of storage and renewal of the water used for sanitary in cruise ships. I imagine that there must be controls, but security is probably a little less than for the tap water because it necessarily stagnate in tanks. In all cases this water should not be used as drinking water unless boiled.
For the pool, I guess it must undergo the checks required for public pools. Check with the company.
As with many activities, you see that zero risk does not exist. It is up to you in connection with the CF team following your daughter to see if this holiday project is a priority, how to make the most while minimizing risks.
Sincerely,
Dr Sophie Ravilly
