Sport therapy in case of asthma and CF after i.v. cure

Question
Dear ladies and gentlemen,
how can I after an i.v. cure work-up again the FEV1, in case it has been decreased by half. I have allergic asthma and CF and exercise on the cross trainer, within 2 months I could raise now up to 2 x 10 minutes with 3 minutes pause in between.
Does it make sense to exercise every day or only 3 times a week and do I also have success, if I raise the time and the watts (due to the Asthma) less?
Many thanks for your help and best regards,
S.
Answer
Hello,
as far as I understand your question, the FEV1 value has been decreased by half - in spite of i.v. antibiotics. In general, it would be a measure to try to achieve an improvement with an alternative antibiotic therapy.
However I understand the question also concerning sport and capacity.
Exercise does in the end always mean a continuous increase of the capacity, in that however, one has always also to think about phases of recreation. Therefore it makes sense, to exercise daily, however not to go to the maximal capacity daily. It is better, to set oneself a weekly goal, that is only about 5% hihger than the one from the week before. This aim can either be a longer exercise duration, however also be a higher watt value. In order to achieve this aim, you should however not go more than 3 times a week into this goal area, and then the following day make a little bit less. With this you give your body time to react slowly to this exercise stimulus. However it is important, to pay also attention to the breathing and not to overstrain.
