Camping holidays in spain

Question
Are there hygienic concerns in case of a stay in a camping van on a campground in south Europe? Our son is 13 years old and has CF.
Family B.
Answer
Dear family B.,
first of all it is great, that you spend your holiday in a certainly good climate for the child.
Also in a camping van one can cook the water and sterilize the inhaling devices and you have for sure lots of hand disinfectant with you. If possible, pressured metered dose inhalers are optimal. In case the cooling chain is not disrupted - you have for sure a refrigerator in the van - also the inhalation of Pulmozyme® is not a problem.
Do not use the drinking water from the reservoir in the van, instead buy mineral water or water from a sterile container locally.
I wish you a good and relaxing holiday,
Best regards,
Dr. H.-E. Heuer
