Staying abroad in Singapore
- Question
- Is there medical CF care in Singapore in case of emergency (staying for 3 months)?
- Answer
- Dear questioner,
Since Cystic Fibrosis is a rather uncommon condition in this part of the world the website of e.g. Cystic Fibrosis Worldwide (www.cfww.org/) does not give any information about contacts in Singapore.
After some research we identified a doctor at the "National University Hospital Singapore" who gave us the following information:
"(...) To the best of my knowledge, the National University Hospital in Singapore is the only tertiary institution here that manages patients with CF.
In the past 18 years I have been managing CF here in my centre, my team and I have received referrals of adult patients as well, even though we are primarily a paediatric pulmonology service.
Our physiotherapists as well as dieticians and pharmacists are quite comfortable managing adult patients as well.
We are after all a paediatric unit within a multidisciplinary general hospital which is also an academic medical centre.
I will be happy to communicate with adult patients with CF as well."
You may contact him if necessary:
