I read something about the development of Meveol®. It seems to be very promising to me. Is there anything new at the moment about this topic? Can one make a prognosis, when the drug will be on the market?

- Dear questioner,
in the area of a possible fighting against different problematic CF germs, many different substances are investigated in studies. Among those is Meveol® (Lactoferrin), a substance, that is already used for inhalation in studies from 2009 on and also in the following years and that was supposed to show an antimicrobial effect against mukoid Pseudomonas aeruginosa as well as against other germs, such as Mycobacterium abscessus, MRSA or Burkholderia cepacia. From the recent time no concrete information about a soon market authorization is known to me.
