Paragliding
- Question
- Hello,
Are there any contraindications for a CF patient to do paragliding?
Thank you - Answer
- Hello
The contra-indications to paragliding can be of several orders:
- the respiratory state must be compatible with altitude. Indeed, respiratory insufficiency with hypoxia will be a contraindication. A history of pneumothorax as well;
- the bone condition may also be a contraindication in case of osteoporosis;
- unbalanced diabetes is also noted as a contraindication ;
- the implantable site can also cause problems due to friction and shock at the level of the straps.
