Disease on organs

Question
Hello,

Is a pancreatic sufficient child also at risk of developing hepatic impairment, or do these diseases only affect patients with pancreatic insufficiency?

Thank you

cordially
Answer
Hello,

The hepatic disease in cystic fibrosis that develops in some patients is most often associated with pancreatic insufficiency.

Nevertheless, even if it is lower, the risk of developing hepatopathy is not zero in pancreatic sufficient patients. Screening with ultrasound of the liver is part of the annual review of all patients, including pancreatic sufficiency, as well as the recommendation for hepatitis A and B vaccination.
