Acapella

Question
Hello, I have a 15 year old daughter with CF and I am interested in Acapella device. What is it? Thanks.
Answer
Hello,
Acapella is one of devices used during physiotherapy to release and eliminate mucus from airways like flutter. Acapella as flutter belongs to devices that links the effect of exhaled air pressure and bronchi vibration. Different from flutter, Acapella does not depend on gravitation, so device orientation and correct using may be easier in some patients. It is also useful to combine flutter and Acapella in some patients. This device is not covered even not partly by health insurance (in Czech Republic).
For detailed information or if the device is suitable for You ask Your physiotherapeutics or CF specialist.
