Salt cave
- Question
- Is it good for a CF patient to stay in a salty cave? Is it beneficial for him? Thanks for an answer.
- Answer
- Hello,
Salty caves are these days hit. But from the CF treatment point of view, we do not have any evidence based medicine data, that visit of a salty cave would be beneficial for patients. The main problem is a risk of an infection during contact with strange people in small space and a big question remains sufficient desinfection of surfaces. With 100 % confirmation of no risk of an infection, a stay in a cave should not make any harm to a patient. But it is very important not to forget about basic therapy with regular and good-quality physiotherapy which no salty cave compensates You.
