Bronchitis

Question
Good afternoon. I am treating for acute (?) bronchitis 2 months, but there is no improvement. I use inhalators budesonid (2 times a day) and salbutamol (3 times a day) about 1 month. Use tablets (Prenoxdiazine) 20 days.
I had three course of antibiotics: now Doxicyclin (1 time a day). Blood analysis one month ago and now showed Leucocytes 9.3 both time. Other indices are normal. I had consultations with pulmonologist and ENT specialist.
Cough (sometimes up to vomit) and hoarsenesss now are better, after Prenoxdiazine use I have cough with yellow purulent phlegm, now I feel chest pain.
I am 53 yrs.
May I can trust physician, who say, that I need more time for recover, if 2 moths was needed for drop of my cough?
Answer
Dear questioner,
It seems from your question that you actually have acute bronchitis, because consultants – pulmonologist and ENT specialist not found another reason for acute cough. Really, for recovery of acute bronchitis very often 2 months, or sometimes more, are needed.
Purulent phlegm in case of acute bronchitis is often. Chest pain is temporal, and it is usually caused by chest muscles and tendons overstrain during cough. If you underwent the chest x-ray and pneumonia was not found, there is no reason to doubt of diagnosis of acute bronchitis and no base to distrust your physician.
Sincerely yours,
