staphylococcus aureus

Question
Which antbiotic should take CF patient, 20 years old with resistance to Penicillin and Erithromycin and who has staphylococcus aureus?
Answer
Thank you for your question.

The optimal antibiotic to take is Flucloxacillin or Cloxacillin. Most Staph aureus are resistant to Penicillin but Flucloxacillin is an appropriate antibiotic to take. Other alternatives include Doxycycline, Co-Trimoxazole. Clindamycin and Rifampicin may also be used.
