Building a house

Question
We would like to build a massive house made of wood. Does anything speak against a wooden house from the standpoint of CF?
What about a ventilation system?
Answer
Hello,
in general there are no concerns about such a way of building a house, of course on the condition that the wood has been prepared according to the protection regulations that pertain here [Germany]. As one wooden house is not the same as the other, one can say few about the ventilation. In the private housebuilding it is still true, that the normal "rush airing" is sufficient and ventilation devices are not necessarily sensible. In case one wants to have those absolutely for energetic reasons, one has to pay attention to simple maintenance and cleaning, as the danger is not in the air but in the filters etc.
