Gardening

Question
Can a person suffering from CF do gardening (contact with soil, grass) without too much risk? I've had several Pseudomonas and aspergillus infections.
Thank you.
Answer
Hello,
gardening is a very pleasant and complete outdoor activity and it is difficult to prohibit this activity for people with cystic fibrosis.
Nevertheless, about the risk of Aspergillosis it has to be known:
Aspergillus fumigatus is a filamentous fungus ubiquitous present in the environment, particularly in the garden (tree leaves, weeds, grass clippings, soil and compost ...).
Given your previous settlements, I invite you to discuss with your CRCM who perfectly knows your case.
Sincerely,
Yann Kerneur
