High fat diet

Question
Hello,
CF patients must have a high fat diet. However, can they take any kind of fat? Should one prefer vegetable fats rather than animal fats, raw rather than cooked fat? Quantity OK ... but what quality?
In advance thank you for your reply.
Answer
Hello,
Indeed, CF patients have significant energy requirements, and we recommend a high calory diet. Alimentation must remain well balanced, and enrichment must cover fats but also other families of foods such as starches, for example.
As for fat, a daily intake of raw plant-rich Omega3 (rapeseed, walnut ...) fats is needed, but once the intake those fats is ensured, dietary fat can vary according to taste preferences in order to have pleasure in eating, essential in the field of nutrition!
