Mosquitoes

Question
Hello,

Following recent floods, including Ile De France, the mosquito population will increase.
What are the risks for CF people, especially babies?

Cordially.
Answer
Hello,

Standing water, together with heat, can indeed favor the proliferation of mosquitoes.
There are no specific risks for CF children.
As with any child, you should disinfect mosquito bites and avoid scratching, and especially prevent the risk of bites by using mosquito nets and removing the maximum larval tanks (containers of stagnant water). Sprays, coils or electric insecticides diffusers can be used but are sometimes poorly tolerated by children with sibilant episodes. In all cases, we seek to achieve good operating conditions including leave them out of reach of children and wash hands after handling.
