Involvement of pancreas in CF

Question
How would you be able to tell whether a CF that exclusively affects the lungs actually also involves the pancreas?

Would a child's lack of appetite and/or smelly stool be a hint?
Answer
Hello,

1) strong-smelling stool is one of the symptoms
2) voluminous stool, fatty, floating stool
3) lack of gaining weight
4) laborartory test of stool samples would confirm an involvement of the pancreas.

Kind regards,
Dr. C. v. Mallinckrodt.
