Question: Hello,

Is there information when mannitol (bronchitol®; dry powder for inhalation) will be authorised for the market in Germany and France?

Answer: Hello,

According to my information the company has applied for market authorisation at the European Authorities. The company hopes that approval will be given this summer [2011]. It would then be valid for the whole EU. How long it will take until the drug is available in each particular EU member state can vary. However, usually it should not take longer than 2 years. I personally assume that it will happen quickly for this drug.
Currently, the drug only seems to be authorised for the market in Australia.
