Cure for CF

Question
Most information sources about CF articles say that there is no cure and that the disease leads to deat. What do you think?
Answer
Dear friend,
Indeed, although we are very close to the radical treatment/cure of Cystic Fibrosis, it is not available to us yet, instead there is only symptomatic treatment of the disease. The treatment of the disease is steadily improving, so now we can say that a child with CF, which has been born after 2000, based on the improved capabilities of the symptomatic treatment, and if no cure is found in the meantime, will have a life expectancy of 60 years, something that is very near to the life expectancy of the general population.
Friendly,
Dr. Stavros Doudounakis
