Douvent® and Mucoclear®

Could you please say to me if I can mix in the same nebulizer Mucoclear® and Duovent®. Thanks for your response. Best regards.

- Usually we don’t recommend to mix different nebulized drugs, except when bronchodilators (salbutamol, ipratopium bromide, fenoterol, etc.) are used. On the other hand, one inconvenient is to increase the volume of liquid to nebulize. If you mix Mucoclear® (6% hypertonic saline) and Duovent® (ipratropium bromide and fenoterol) you will obtain a 8ml-solution to nebulize and you will considerably increase the nebulization duration. That’s why a good option could be to inhale a bronchodilator, administrated via a dry powder inhalator or a pressurized metered-dose inhaler coupled with a spacer, before the Mucolear nebulization.
