Characteristics of CF at young adult age
- Question
- My question is: what is the chance that the diagnosis of CF is only made at a later age.
I am 20 years old and have no previous complaints. Recently I seem to have a lot of secretions that go from my nose to my throat. And recently I seem to notice that my stools are fatty. I wonder if this an indication to go and consult my general practitioner. Otherwise I do not have the diuretic complaints and I don’t want to go to my GP as someone who sees me with every single trivial complaint.
- Answer
- Dear questioner.
The ecorn medium is not founded to give specific advice about complaints and does not replace a consultation with the GP.
To interpret your complaints you really have to go to your GP.
On your general question what is the chance that the diagnosis CF is made at a later age we can answer you that about 10% of the diagnosis of CF are only made during adult life.
