sweat test

Question
I would like to ask what kind of test is necessary to exclude the possibility of CF in a child.
Does the sweat test suffice, and if it is negative should we repeat the test?
Answer
Dear friend,
If the sweat test is negative, this suffices to exclude the possibility of CF, provided that this negative sweat test has been performed in a laboratory that performs many such tests and the method of iontophoresis of pilocarpine has been used.
