sweat test
- Question
- I would like to ask what kind of test is necessary to exclude the possibility of CF in a child.
Does the sweat test suffice, and if it is negative should we repeat the test?
- Answer
- Dear friend,
If the sweat test is negative, this suffices to exclude the possibility of CF, provided that this negative sweat test has been performed in a laboratory that performs many such tests and the method of iontophoresis of pilocarpine has been used.
