- Hello,
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) is a germ that lives in wetlands.
In everyday life, including your home, you use cleaning utensils that are identified as disseminators of PA (towels, kitchen towels, sponges maintenance, towels and washcloths and other).
After use, they stay moist and PA can develop there more or less rapidly. Then by manipulating these objects, hands and body can be in contact with the PA and promote contamination in the lungs.
We can reduce the risk of transmission with simple gestures:
- Option for "everyone's towels," change every day or use a dry towel between two uses.
- Make kitchen towels to dry between two uses and change several times a week.
- Sponges maintenance (for sinks and health for example) hold water and dry slowly. They may be prefer microfiber mops that can be washed at 60 ° once a week.
However, contamination with PA remains possible and unpredictable even if all hygiene conditions are met and one should not feel guilty in this situation.
Hope that answers your question.
Sincerely.
