Testing

Question
Dear Dr. Doudounakis,
Regarding the test, it was performed in Heppokration Hospital in Thessaloniki by Dr. Tsanaka's team and the value was 26. They used the method you made reference to, but I do know how the pancreatic function is checked.
Answer
Dear friend,
Since you do not make any reference to your original question and my answer I cannot be certain what exactly you are referring to, due to the great number of questions about the sweat test that have been answered recently. In any case, a value of 26 in the sweat test performed with iontophoresis of pilocarpine is totally within normal range (0-40 mmol/lt) and it does not constitute an indication for CF. The laboratory, where the test was done, is very experienced in such procedures.
There are many ways to check the pancreatic function. The simplest and most common is with the fecal elastase.
For more information regarding your issue you should repost your questions in full, in order for me to answer in more detail.
